Established:
Holy Comforter Lutheran Church School was established in 1972 and has been serving area families for 38 years. We are a licensed facility and both our Mother’s Day Out and Preschool programs follow all the guidlelines and requirements set by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Mission:
The Preschool Program at Holy Comforter focuses on the development of the whole child. Fostering a positive self concept and good self esteem, the program offers varied experiences in developing tactile, visual, auditory, language and social skills in a caring, Christian environment
Activities:
Developmentally appropriate activities are designed to enhance the creative potential of each child and to provide exposure to many different concepts and cultural awareness. The Preschool classroom is center-based and provides experiences in language, fine motor skills, writing, math, science, dramatic play, and manipulatives. In addition to our daily activities, we provide the following:
Kids in Action- a local gymnastics company , teaches biweekly classes focused on gross motor skills
Spanish classes – these classes are weekly and designed to introduce Spanish language
Chapel- weekly opportunity for children to experience a time of worship and praise
Music- weekly fun filled opportunity for music enrichment
Godly Play—weekly interactive classes telling faith stories of the bible using manipulatives.
Hours and Days of Operation:
Our School operates from September through the May following the Humble ISD vacation calendar. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00am-6:00pm
Age requirements:
3 year olds- turn 3 before September 1st (must be fully potty-trained, no exceptions)
4 year olds- turn 4 before September 1st
Curriculum.
* Our curriculum is developed in cooperation with area Kindergarten teachers to ensure that skills required for entry in Humble ISD kindergarten are introduced while in our Preschool program. We regularly update our curriculum to reflect any necessary changes.
Extended Day Option:
Stay and Discover is an optional program offered each day from 12:00noon-2:15. Children bring their lunch and involve themselves in hands on science, music , cooking , art activities, games and outdoor time.
Extended am and pm — Holy Comforter Lutheran Church school offers before school and after school care to the students who attend Holy Comforter Preschool 3 or 4 year old programs. Hours of operation for early care are 7:00am -8:45 early care and 2:15- 6:00pm. Various options are available for early morning and late afternoon care.
