HCLC 2008 Celebrations
Looking back on 2008, members of HCLC share what they’d like others to know what happened at or through Holy Comforter. God is blessing us with lots and lots of great stuff happening around HCLC. We need to tell others.

“One thing that comes to mind was the service held 20 hours after Ike came through. No power or AC, just a makeshift service and the sounds of music and praise out through the open doors into the rather shaken community. It was great.” – Brian

“My five-year-old son Sam, makes up his own songs singing about how much he loves things, and that he especially loves God” – Michelle

“Holy Comforter provided a great opportunity for my children to grow deeper in their faith by participating in Camp Hope, Disciple Project at Texas Lutheran University and in WOW!
Our entire family enjoys “Family Meal Time” on Wednesday nights and the opportunity to grow deeper in our faith in our bible study classes.
We just basically celebrate the opportunity to grow spiritually with so many genuine Christian people!”

“Where to begin… WOW, Godly Play, The Pre-School, The HCLC staff, the volunteers, the service projects, the warm welcome of the congregation. It’s all been wonderful. But I think perhaps the most inspiring was the 40th Anniversary Celebration. It’s pretty amazing when public officials not only pass out awards and give kudos for the work that’s being done in & around this place for the last 40 years, but to hear them also speak of the personal ways in which Holy Comforter Church & School touched their lives and their community. That was pretty inspiring. We are new members of this church and we are so proud to be a part of this great place!!!” – Christy & Rick
